Milsport have developed a thermostatically controlled oil cooler kit for the classic Impreza. Unlike our competitors the cooler matrix is situated behind the front grille, this is the optimum position for COOL air flow. Our competitors locate their matrix in all sorts of places, under the wheel arch for instance !!!
Our competitors "kits" are generally not that, they are supplied with pipework and the matrix (NO brackets fittings or instructions, some are not even thermostatically controlled, WHAT IS THE POINT OF THAT ?)
The Milsport kit comes complete with:
Mocal cooler matrix.
Goodrich stainless steel braided hose with anodised aero quality anodised fittings.
ALL brackets and fittings.
Sandwich plate with 82 degrees thermostat fitted.
FULL photograhic and written installation manual.
THE DESIGN OF THIS KIT IS SUCH THAT IT CAN STILL BE FITTED ON CARS WITH A FMIC, THE COOLER MATRIX WILL STILL GET FULL AIRFLOW, IT CANNOT GET THAT IF HALF BURIED BEHIND THE FMIC.
A LONG DEVELOPMENT PERIOD ENSURED THAT THERE IS NO CUTTING, DRILLING OR TRIMMING REQUIRED TO FIT THIS KIT.
Extensive post development testing has shown that during even the most arduous driving conditions (long motorway drives and track work) your engine will remain at 82 degrees C, only creeping up whilst sitting in traffic. As soon as forward movement is reinstated the temps drop back down within seconds.
NB, On some cars the with the horn located behind the grille it may need relocating a few cm's to the left.
