We bought our first UK Turbo back in 1999 and quickly set about making it look and perform the way we wanted. In order to achieve this we relied mainly on aftermarket products that were available at the time but there was also a lot of hard graft involved, colour coding all the black plastic, spit and polishing the engine bay and so on. Engine work was limited to the usual exhaust, intake and remapping but we managed a healthy (at that time) 275bhp/265lb/ft.
After selling this car we imported our Jap spec STi, also in silver, and the process started all over again (the wheels you see were fitted the day the car arrived and were the first gold set in the UK). Most of the products were purchased from established companies within the UK but we soon realised that nothing had changed and although the basic ideas were good they lacked really thorough development and certainly lacked high quality finish. Some finishing touches we wanted were just simply not available, so we made them ourselves and to the standard we wanted, which is how Milsport came about. Over the years we have attended many of the Jap car scene shows and have constantly been asked by other Scooby owners, where did you get that? or how did you do that? so we took the plunge and set about producing the high quality products we all wanted but could not find and at reasonable prices, until now that is!! |
